Out Of Fuel is a Helsinki-based duo making slow-burning, shadowy electronic music rooted in drum’n’bass and techno, shaped by a dub-like way of working with space, repetition and sound. Their sound is built from layered textures of noise, space, deep low-end, eroded harmonics, endless echo trails and distorted haze, all folding into structures that hover between pressure and suspension.
Their AV/live show pulls these elements into a more restrained and atmospheric territory. The rhythms take a subtler form as reshaped fragments of their drum’n’bass work merge with slowly shifting tones and spatial details, unfolding into an environment that changes slowly at its own pace. In their AV/DJ sets, the same sonic vocabulary appears in a more rhythmic form, with drum’n’bass coloured by a hypnotic techno edge and the music and visuals working together in real time, shaping a flow rather than aiming for peaks.
